Day 1: Arrive Saigon
On arrival at the airport you will be met and driven to your hotel of choice in the centre of the city. The evening will be spent at leisure.
Day 2: Saigon (B, L, D)
Enjoy a full day privately guided tour taking in the main highlights of this city, followed by dinner at a local family’s house.
Day 3: Saigon – Dalat (B, L, D)
In the morning depart northwards to the mountain town of Dalat and enjoy a game of golf or visit to the waterfalls. In the evening, dine with your guide on Saigon Bia and enjoy some traditional Vietnamese food, for those wanting to taste snake, we will happily organize this!
Day 4: Dalat – Nha Trang (B)
Spend the morning soaking up the local markets in this town and in the afternoon head down hill by private transfer (we promise you will not have to listen to Born in the USA all the way, but can organize it on request!!) to the coastal city of Nha Trang. For those who are keen we can organize bicycles for this part of the journey. On arrival in Nha Trang check into your hotel and enjoy this buzzing beach city.
Day 5: Nha Trang – Hoi An (B)
Spend a full day here with opportunities to do a full day boat tour to offshore islands for swimming and snorkeling. In the evening, board the overnight train to Danang.
Day 6: Hoi An (B)
Arrive at the crack of sparrows into Danang and be met and transferred to Hoi An or as Clarkson refers to it ‘ Vietnam’s Saville Row’. Spend the day here getting clothes made, souvenir shopping, relaxing on the beach and not having to worry about fixing your bike problems!
Day 7: Hoi An – Hue (B)
Morning to pick up clothes on Saville Row. In the afternoon continue your journey north by private road transfer along the Hai Van Pass, which Clarkson praised as ‘..a deserted ribbon of perfection – one of the best coast roads in the World’. On the way you will stop off at the Marble Mountains and Cham Museum. On arrival in Hue, check into hotel and spend the evening spray painting your vehicle (joke!!!). In Hue we can organize a cooking class, yoga or Kung Fu for those interested!
Day 8: Hue - Hanoi (B)
Spend today taking in the highlights of this city, the citadel and the royal tombs, before jumping on a flight north to Hanoi. (quicker and easier than the train and it will get you in the right place…. ) On arrival in Hanoi, check into your hotel.
Day 9: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Be driven to Halong Bay for an overnight cruise on a traditional junk in this beautiful bay of 2,000 islands. You will have opportunities to check out the floating villages, swim or kayak in the bay. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine on the top deck whilst watching the sunset Spend the night with only the lull of the waves to keep you awake.
Day 10: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L, D)
Rise early, enjoy a trip to Surprise cave before a scrumptious lunch. At midday transfer back to Hanoi and in the evening enjoy a performance at the Water Puppet Theatre followed by a local dinner washed down with local beers.
Day 11: Hanoi (B, L)
Take in a full day city tour of this charming city, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Museums and any thing else that takes your fancy, In the evening, transfer to the airport for your flight home. |
