Day 1: Hanoi - Lao Cai
Our trip starts with an overnight train journey from Vietnam's capital city to the border town of Lao Cai. The accommodation for tonight will be in soft sleeper berths on the express train (standard cabin includes 4 berths per cabin).
Day 2: Sapa - Ta Van Home stay (B,L,D)
We start walk on a small path down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H’mong village Lao Chai. Black H’mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. They are proud of their culture and keep their traditions and way of living. They have their own language and wear traditional indigio blue clothing. After this you continue to Ta Van village (1.200 m) to visit Zay people. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van and have our dinner here.
Day 3: Ta Van - Su Pan - SaPa - Lao Cai (B)
After the breakfast we continue to visit the Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai. Here, we also stop at a waterfall. The Red Dao women wear colorful red embroidery and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of the women have shaved off their eyebrows because of a Red Dao Legend. We continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and trek up to Su Pan where you will meet the jeep and transfer back to Sapa. You will arrive at 1pm and will have time to have lunch and do some shopping at the local market. We will arrange a day room to freshen up before transferring back to the train station for your overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi
Arriving at Hanoi station at 0500AM in the morning, end of services. |
